When he played Colorado for Bud Light Music First 50/50/1 on August 1, Phillip Phillips showed us that he’s not just another reality-show causality—he’s the real deal.
The Georgia-born singer-songwriter took a leap of faith when he auditioned for the biggest music competition of all time—American Idol—and won. After a crazy year-and-a-half that saw his first single, “Home,” become a ubiquitous hit, Phillips joined John Mayer on tour this summer before breaking out on a solo trek of his own, establishing his live performance chops. We caught up with Phillips on his tour bus to play a little game of “First Thing That Comes to Mind.” This is one you don’t want to miss!
